What does it mean to say we are People of the Book? As Christians, we are led to build a relationship with Jesus through reading God’s word in the Bible and through prayer. The Christian Education Ministry at River Road seeks to guide you in this process by offering tools you can use to study and discern God’s word and to assist you in making the most of your prayer time.
As a congregation of faith committed to reading, studying, and learning the Scriptures, we in recent months have been invited to read the books of Psalms, Acts, and 1 and 2 Peter. During March and the season of Lent, we are invited to read Isaiah, Chapters 40-66. This portion of Isaiah contains beloved and profound prophecies of Messiah. Isaiah is the most frequently quoted book of the Old Testament found in the New Testament. As People of the Book, we will find blessing as we read and study Isaiah.
Watch for Bible reading tips for you and your family, prayer exercises, specific Bible verses, and more. These items will be shared in a variety of ways - here on the website and through our Facebook and Instagram spaces. We encourage you to participate in Bible Studies available through d365 and YouVersion. Both are available online and as mobile apps.
Feel free to share all People of the Book information with others.
