We offer two distinct in-person worship services.
Our Informal Worship service is held at 9:00 a.m. in Saunders Hall. The atmosphere is conversational (non-liturgical), and music is usually led by a band of musicians and singers. A typical service includes modern worship songs as well as time-honored hymns, with moments of prayer and praise, and the same message that is taught at the 11:00 service.
The Traditional Worship service is held in the Sanctuary at 11:00. This service celebrates time-honored liturgy and hymns of the faith. Strong emphasis is placed on the reading of scripture, corporate prayer and creeds, and personal reflection. The singing is led by choir, organ, piano and a variety of instruments on occasion. A typical service includes familiar hymns and songs of personal reflection and prayer.
The same spiritual message is taught at both services. We want you to attend whichever service makes you feel the most comfortable and connected to God and others in our church community. You will find our people welcoming, affirming, and genuinely delighted you have joined us. No matter where you are on your journey of faith, you will find a home at River Road Presbyterian.
If you are unable to worship in person, we invite you to join us Sunday mornings for livestreams of both services. Past services are available by Sunday afternoon on YouTube as well. You may also listen to a podcast of the sermon on Spotify.
