youth fellowship

Sundays, 6:00 p.m.

The youth of River Road gather every Sunday evening for a time of social and spiritual engagement in the High School Youth Room. During this time, we share a meal together, talk about what it means to truly follow Jesus, and play fun and active games! At River Road, we believe that training and discipling our young members to know, love, and follow Jesus in the chaotic world they inhabit is incredibly important, and we strive to make our Youth Fellowship welcoming, hospitable, fun, and transformative. All middle and high schoolers are welcome, so come and join us anytime!

YOUTH EDUCATION

Sunday School - 10:00 a.m.

6th & 7th Grade Rally Day 2.jpg

6th and 7th Grades

Our 6th and 7th Graders gather for high energy and interactive experiences designed to engage youth in meaningful opportunities to explore their faith. The middle school room is a great place to connect and gather to explore faith and have a whole lot of fun. Friends are always welcome. Breakfast Fellowship kicks off this class in Room 206 taught by Dana and Doug Moore.

Confirmation Class

Church membership is always a choice for the student and the parents. Confirmation Class is a year-long Sunday school class for 8th graders and above.  During this class, the students will develop their faith and become prepared to join RRPC as members in the spring. The class is designed for both those who have not attended Sunday School before and for those who have attended regularly. Bob Shenk and Bob Spicknall will lead this class.

9th - 12th Grades (High School)

This class meets in room 203 and studies a variety of topics from Bible study and theology to ethics in Christian living. As students are growing older and more mature, we start to engage them with more complex and intricate ideas and questions concerning their faith. This is a class where students can expect to learn and discuss topics in a way that is engaging and age appropriate.

Youth Missions

As Christians, we believe that God calls us all to fully live and embody our faith outside the walls of the church building. We can do this in a variety of different ways, and one shape this takes is caring for and serving those with less in our neighborhoods, city, state, and country. For many years, youth at River Road have fulfilled this call to care for those in need through the Appalachian Service Project or "ASP." During this week-long trip, students and adults help to restore and rebuild homes for individuals and families who might not otherwise be able to afford such services.

ASP

Each year our youth participate in a week long mission trip with the Appalachia Service Project. To learn more about the upcoming trip, click here.
