A Service of Evening Prayer for Our World (Taizé)

On the evening of World Communion Sunday, we will gather in Kemp Hall for a candlelight service of prayer for our world. Music for the service will be from the Taizé chant tradition, led by a variety of instrumentalists. Come and bring a friend.
All Saints’ Celebration and Remembrance Sunday

All Saints is the day of the Christian Liturgical Calendar that we remember those in our lives who have passed on, as well as the “saints” from our particular congregation. For this Sunday we will be joined by bagpipes and Commonwealth Brass as special music for remembrance.

Celebration Worship in the Sanctuary
A highlight of our Advent and Christmas season, Christmas at River Road is a celebration of the coming of the Christ Child through music. On this Gaudete (Joy) Sunday, worship will be led by all of our music ensembles featuring choirs, handbells, and Commonwealth Brass. Also known as the Easter Triduum, The Three Days is the period of three days that begins with the liturgy on the evening of Maundy Thursday, walks through Christ’s Passion on the cross on Good Friday, and reaches its high point in the Easter Vigil followed by Easter Worship on Sunday. It recalls the passion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, as portrayed in the canonical Gospels. Through these services, we hope that you will experience an immersive worship experience journeying with Christ through his passion on the cross.
