Artists-in-residence
River Road Presbyterian Church is fortunate to have Commonwealth Brass serving as our Artists-in-Residence. The ensemble provides musical leadership for worship services and other special events. In addition, Commonwealth Brass presents an annual Summer Concert in July.
The Commonwealth Brass was established in 2003. All of the original members are present save one and that is James Bryant who is now retired. The ensemble features Matthew Stevens and Chuck Hinton on trumpets, Sandra Burnett on French horn, Matthew Chaffin on trombone, and JJ Nielsen on Tuba. The ensemble plays for church services, weddings, funerals, retirement parties and other special events. The ensemble are currently artists in residence at River Road Presbyterian Church.
